Tip3. After learning a new dance step, record a video of yourself dancing the step while you still remember it! Submitted by me! -------------------- |

OK, I really had hoped I wouldn't win the first contest, but I'm not going to rig it for someone else to win. So, I got this tip from a friend while taking 6 dances classes a day during a Stanford Dance Week way back in 1999. I was asking how we are suppose to remember so much material presented in a cram course. He suggested we could videotape ourselves dancing the steps after every class while we remembered the material! Actually, I didn't use this advice at the time, because I didn't have my handy pocket video camera back then. I just had an old VHS-C camcorder, which was large and clumsy, and I had to rewind and fast-forward a tape to use. Today, the tip is much more valuable, with all of the pocket video cameras that create short clips, which you can easily access later. I assume you could even use your camera phone to record dance steps. The quality might not be great, but the footage would probably be good enough to jog your memory! -------------------- |
